While the new name sounds more felicitous, the old name seems more descriptive of the size and color of the flowers. The showy spathes, cone-shaped like hand-fashioned ice-cream cones with the upper corner turned down, are quite large. In their centers arise finger-like spadices in a matching shade of yellow. The large flowers are set off by the surrounding mid-green, arrow-shaped leaves that are spotted with white. Early to midsummer. 20-24 in. x 24 in. Yellow flowers *Sun, Part Shade Zones 8, 9, 10*
