We love the upright, candelabra-like effect of Veronicastrums in which all of the side flowering spikes curve upward in unison with the central flower spike. Veronicastrum 'Red Arrow', however, is quite different in appearance from the other varieties we grow. Its central flower spike is stout while the whorl of shorter flower spikes below it do not curve upward but instead grow straight out at an upward angle. The small individual flowers of the spikes emerge deep violet from red buds giving an overall reddish appearance to the inflorescences. Whorls of lance-shaped leaves rise loosely about the sturdy stems of this herbaceous perennial.

July to September.   4 ft. x 18 in.
