 | This modest but charming groundcover hales from northern Greece and Albania where it grows in open areas of scree and rocks. Veronica thessalica develops a woody base from which prostrate fleshy stems emerge. Rounded leaves grow in congested whorls up the stems in a manner reminiscent of many sedums. The leaves are fleshy and lightly serrated along their sides. Tiny cup-shaped flowers open in clusters at the terminal ends of the stems during the spring.
