These long-blooming iris relatives add color to the autumn garden often carrying on their bloom into the winter. In the maritime Pacific Northwest, Schizostylis coccinea are virtually evergreen. The three-quarter-inch, cup-shaped flowers are held facing outwards on two foot bloom spikes.
