Introduced by Andy and Melissa Van Hevelingen in Newberg, OR, 2002. We are always pleased to grow plants developed at Van Hevelingen Herb Nursery because Andy and Melissa are such knowledgeable growers and hybridizers. Spending an afternoon with them often turns into a wonderful history lesson. This particular selection was raised from seed that was collected in Portugal by Joan Head. "Giant" is not an exaggeration when describing the very showy large floral heads. They are born on extra-long spikes that are 10 to 12 inches long. Although not as hardy as Lavandula angustifolia, L. stoechas and its selections do have one advantage - they bloom non-stop from spring to frost. Give this good drainage and full sun.

Spring to autumn.  25-30 in. x 30-36 in.
