The aroma of Lavandula 'Susan Belsinger' (Thomas DeBaggio, 1995) is less sweet and more camphor-like. The leaves are gray green in the spring and green as they mature. At bloom time, the shrub is mid-sized, open in habit and has attractive dark flowers.

July.  35 in. x 50 in.

Dark Violet Blue flowers

Sun     Zones 6, 7, 8
This is a cultivar of Lavandula angustifolia. Lavenders need full sun and very good drainage. Because of our rainy winters, we amend our soil with 1/4 ten gravel and top dress with the same to keep plant stems and foliage from resting on wet soil.
