Even in late October a few brilliant blue flowers on Gentiana septemfida var. lagodoechiana continue to open. This is not bad for a plant that begins to bloom in late July. In our garden this forms a mat of small, glossy, lance-shaped leaves. Flowering stems have single terminal and axilary blooms. This has been an easy gentian for us to grow in a mixed border with a little late afternoon shade.
Summer to fall. 6 in. x 18 in.
