Fuchsia hatsebachii is a lovely species that has some remarkable features. The foliage is narrow and willow-like. The small flowers, although tubular, do not hang straight down but bend outward. Their tubes are red and their corollas are dark purple. In addition, the stamens are quite long extending dramatically from the tube.

September and October.  4-5 ft.+ x 2-4 ft.

In the maritime Pacific Northwest, we grow hardy Fuchsias in full sun where they bloom non-stop from late spring to first frost. In hotter climates, we recommend giving Fuchsias protection from the afternoon sun. Fuchsias make wonderful subjects in containers and for the mixed border.
