The young leaves and stems of Clematis recta 'Purpurea' are purple aging to midgreen. Inch-wide starry white flowers in clusters at stem terminals. Cut back after bloom for new purple regrowth and a second round of bloom. Somewhat floppy so grow in a cage or a shrub. Sweetly scented. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.
