Clematis pitcheri is native to SE United States. This small flowered climber is quite variable. The flowers can range in color from dull purple to red purple to brown purple. Our form has some red in the purple both inside and out. The flowers form short bells. The tips of the sepals curl back just revealing the yellow anther tips within. While not a showy plant, it has a great deal of charm. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.
Early to late summer. 8-10 ft.
