Clematis ladakhiana is a subtly beautiful clematis which rewards the careful viewer. The widely opened, down-facing flowers of orange-yellow have upturned sepal tips and are flushed with red on their reverses. The narrow foliage is an appealing blue green. This is very beautiful grown into conifers or large shrubs or even allowed to scramble over a stump. We received our original plant from a friend of the nursery, James Earl, who raised it from seed collected by plant explorer Chris Chadwell in Kashmir.

This summer bloomer has it main crop on the current year's growth. Prune this back hard at the end of winter to encourage new growth.
