We raised Arisaema thunbergii subsp. urashima from seed given to us by the late Kazushige Ozawa who had collected this plant in the wild. Individual leaves, composed of many leaflets, emerge in March. The pale spathe tube and dark cobra-like hood enclose a spadix with a very long, tapering filament extending from its tip (possibly used to stabilize the plant).

April to May.  12-24 in. x 12 in.
