The original cross between Viburnum carlesii and V. utile produced an attractive shrub that is partly evergreen producing highly fragrant flowers in the sping. Viburnum x burkwoodii 'Chenaultii' is a selection from that cross and is noted for its compact habit and its bronze fall color.
