Veronica spicata is an upright, mat-forming perennial with stately flowering spikes. The lower foliage is oblong but it becomes more linear as it climbs the stem. The rich green leaves are hairy to the touch and are finely toothed around their margins. The terminal flower spikes form a candelabra with the largest, central spike measuring 5 to 6 inches. These are seedlings and their flowers are a rich violet. The flowers have prominent violet stamens which give them an airy appearance.

Early to late summer.   2.5-3 ft. x 2 ft.
