Native to Eastern North America. Sanguinaria canadensis `Flore Plena' emerges in the early spring then goes dormant in summer until the next spring. The white, very double flowers of rest on the newly opened leaves. The sap from the rhizomes is red thus giving it the common name `Bloodroot'
