We were not prepared for the rapid growth of this immense shrub. Flowering is late, not until the end of August. Individual flowers are larger than we have seen on similar salvias but not as plentiful. The fragrant leaves too are large. Triangular in shape, they measure up to 2 1/4-inches long by 2-inches wide. Salvia `Wild Watermelon" appeals to hummingbirds looking for late season sustenance.

August to October.  40 in. x 60 in.
