Pacific Coast Iris. Iris tenax is raised from seed collected in the western end of the Columbia River Gorge. Very tough, narrow, deep green foliage is evergreen. In late spring, stems emerge bearing 1 or 2 delicate looking, 3-inch flowers that are lavender blue. There is a yellow blaze in the middle of each of the falls. Good drainage is essential. This is a Great Plant Pick.
