Hebe sp. (from Western Hills) caught our eye during hebe trials at the North Willamette Experiment Station. It was one of the plants that seemed least damaged by late frost. The glaucous blue foliage is about a half-inch in length. Stems begin yellow green and turn mahogony as they age. The flowers are very pale and fade almost to white. This was originally found at Western Hills Nursery in California.
