American native, at a private ranch outside of San Antonio, Texas. At last, we have seedlings from our original collection, all bearing the characteristic long scarlet tube with scarlet interior of this form. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden. Summer to fall. 10-12 ft. Scarlet flowers *Sun, Part Shade Zones 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9*
This summer bloomer has it main crop on the current year's growth. Prune this back hard at the end of winter to encourage new growth.
