Our friends the Chikumas made this selection. The upright non-clinging stems bear tubular flowers of light purple on crook-neck stems. When the flower is bloomed out, cut back the stem to promote new growth and flowering. The name is from The Tale of Genji. It suggests the moon on a misty night. Clematis `Oborozukiyo' is suitable for the front of a border or a container.
