When Clematis 'Andromeda' first bloomed in our gardens, it drew a crowd of admirers. The tapered white sepals had bright rose pink bars flaring from their bases in a brush-stroke fashion. In the spring the flowers are semi-double and quite dramatic, but in the autumn, the flowers are smaller and have a more delicate charm. 'Andromeda' was raised by Ken Pyne from seed he gathered from C. 'General Sikorski' (formerly 'Jadwiga Teresa'). It was released in 1994.

Late spring to summer; late summer.  8-10 ft.

Early flowering in the spring on the previous year's growth. If you hard prune, you eliminate most or all of the early blooms. Instead, groom this after flowering by cutting back the top one-third to one-half of some stems. This encourages new growth for possible summer bloom. All of our Clematis are two year old plants that are suitable for immediate planting in your garden.
