California. A spreading perennial with glossy green oblanceolate leaves. Three inch heads of 40 to 50 long tubular scarlet and orange flowers. Individual flowers are 2.5 inches long. A radiant hummingbird plant but not advised where there are cats because it blooms so close to the ground. Needs sun and good drainage. Summer to autumn. 6 in. x 2.5 ft.
