Found in the Mediterranean area from Spain to Israel in coastal and island areas. The narrow blue green leaves are found mostly on the new growth, the older lower growth is woody and bare of foliage. In spring, attractive yellow green bracts surround the hard-to-see true flowers. In some warm areas this has been know to self-seed, but we have not had that problem at our nursery.
