From Adams County, Idaho. Ideal for a rockery or well-draining site. The finely divided leaves of this low-growing herbaceous species are almost ladder-like in construction. The down-facing, bell-shaped flowers are leathery in texture with fine silky hairs on their surfaces. They give way to large, showy, silvery seedheads that are highly ornamental.
Midspring to midsummer. 8-20 in.
