From high elevations of the Sierra Madre Occidental of Mexico. This has large lime-green, cordate leaves that measure up to 3 inches in width and 5 in height. They are deeply veined and puckered on top and densely woolly on their reverses. Stems and petioles are red purple. All of this serves as a stunning background for the red two-lipped flowers.
Early winter to spring. bloom 5-6 ft. x 4 ft.
