Thanks to Joe Orndorff who brought us this seedling from his garden labeled as a cross between a species from Chiapas and a mystery plant named 'Hidalgo'. We have recently identified this as a cultivar named 'Jose Gonzales'. It has proven to be a fine plant standing at 5 to 6 ft. The mid-sized flowers are medium blue with purple influence. We grow this at the edge of our orchard garden where it receives little water and dappled shade in the heat of the day.
Midsummer to early autumn. 6 ft. x 2 ft.
