Some do not see the appeal of yet another purple penstemon. However, this one is special. The broad shiny foliage is decidedly darker than any garden penstemon we have grown. In other words, this plant both looks and is robust, producing a generous display of medium-sized tubular flowers all season. June to first frost. bloom 3 ft. x 3 ft. | All of the garden hybrid Penstemon need full sun and well-drained soil. Mulch only with gravel in order to discourage crown rot. It is not necessary to fertilize Penstemon. | |
