New Mexico. A mat-former found in a gravelly meadow at a high elevation north of Taos, this has proved very long-lived. It thrives in a fairly well-amended border with occasional summer watering. The inch-long flowers are in loose clusters up the 24-inch flower stems. The spoon-shaped leaves of the basal rosettes are evergreen.
