On a warm summer day, the scent of this lavender is so sweet and heavy it makes us drowsy. Perhaps the soporific nature of the plant is what is being celebrated in its trade name. Mid-green leaves on a somewhat wild-looking shrub.
June-July. bloom 18 in. x 18 in.
Violet Blue flowers
Sun Zones 5-8 |
| This is a cultivar of Lavandula angustifolia. Lavenders need full sun and very good drainage. Because of our rainy winters, we amend our soil with 1/4 ten gravel and top dress with the same to keep plant stems and foliage from resting on wet soil. |
