The new leaves appear iridescent because of the fine hairs that cover the dark violet surface of the leaves. They have pronounced black veining. As the leaves age, the frosted quality begins to emerge around the darkly etched veins. A gust of wind reveals their glossy burgundy undersides. Late spring to late summer. 12 in. x 30 in.
